Humberto about AIDS statements Baudet: ‘Racist and homophobic’

“Mark Rutte’s brother, Eberhart van der Laan’s brother, my brother. All three died from the effects of AIDS, like so many men and women who died of AIDS,” Humberto Tan told Humberto last night.

Check out the presenter’s full statement here:

“I can add all kinds of figures, for example from the Aidsfonds,” Tan said in the broadcast. “I can show it’s colder what he says, but that’s not what he’s about.”

‘Superiority white straight men’

Baudet said during a visit to Heerhugowaard this weekend that ‘the chance that a white straight person will get AIDS is smaller than the chance that he will be struck by lightning’. He called the chance that a white straight person will get the disease “negligibly small.”

“This story should underline the superiority of white straight men,” says Tan about Baudet’s statements. “And when he is approached about those statements, ‘we’ did not understand it correctly and ‘he’ did not mean it that way,” says Tan.

Aidsfonds: ‘Statements too horrible’

The TV presenter said he had long doubted his statement. For example, the Aidsfonds, which he had asked for comment, refused to respond because it found Baudet’s statements too appalling. For Tan, however, the measure was full. “Sometimes you shouldn’t shut up.”

Baudet reacted after the broadcast to Twitter. He says he made the AIDS statements to “explain what is happening with corona”.
