E-bikes are an indispensable part of the street scene. That extra push during the daily ride to work or during a relaxing ride in the sun, the Flemish are increasingly cycling electrically. Is your copy due for replacement? Then do-it-yourself chain Hubo is the place to be, says Gunther Devisch promoters Belgium.
In exchange for an old electric bicycle, Hubo gives a discount of up to 200 euros when purchasing a brand new electric bicycle from Minerva or Evobike. Those who trade in a “regular” bicycle receive a discount of up to 50 euros. “It is a ‘hot topic’ on our Facebook page“, Devisch laughs. “Two posts about the campaign were viewed almost 300,000 times and generated a lot of reactions,” he says.
Many promoters say they are fans of Hubo’s bicycles, including Angela, who has been cycling on an e-bike purchased from Hubo for several years. Anne also bought a bicycle from the chain before: “Very satisfied with the after-sales service,” she says. Wendy was so enthusiastic about the Minerva bicycle that she used for her work that she bought it herself: “Super satisfied with !”
Jessica cycled almost 2,000 kilometers last year with her electric bicycle bought from the chain. She also gives her fellow promoters a tip to purchase an extra battery directly from the bicycle brand itself. “Half the price difference compared to Hubo”, it sounds.
Promo hunter Pierre took advantage of the trade-in campaign and, together with his wife, already took a first ride on their new electric bicycles, bought for 699 and 1,395 euros. “Saved 400 euros by handing in our old bicycles”, he proudly shares.
As a bonus, Devisch also shares Nele’s tip to have the electronic receipt placed on the customer card when purchasing a bicycle. “That way you can always find it if you lose it.”
Working
The trade-in promotion will run until June 11 in all Hubo stores. The returned bicycles must be in working condition, which means that the battery and drive and all mechanical parts are working. The charger must also be traded in.
