KOMPAS.com – Recently the government is revising the rules for using the MyPertamina Application to buy fuel oil (BBM) Subsidized.
However, people are confused about how to use this application when buying gasbecause as is well known, gas station forbid use cell phone in that area.
Why can’t you use a cell phone at a gas station?
Reporting from Grid (29/3/2022), the reason cellphones are prohibited from being used when filling gas is because cellphone radiation propagates through the air.
Radiation has heat properties, although the heat is not felt on human skin. Meanwhile, the fuel released from the gas station nozzle is volatile.
And if fuel is put into a vehicle engine then it will be flammable.
Finalization process rules
Acting Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga as well as SH C&T of PT Pertamina (Persero) Irto Ginting said that his party had not implemented the use of the MyPertamina application for purchasing gasoline at this time.
“This has not been determined. Currently, it is still in the process of finalizing the revision of Presidential Regulation 191, especially regarding the criteria for subsidized BBM recipients,” said Irto when contacted by Kompas.com, Saturday (4/6/2022).
He said, because the use of MyPertamina for fuel purchases has not been implemented as a whole, currently gas stations only accept payments using cash (cash) or cards. Even so, there are already most gas stations that can use the MyPertamina application.
Access to MyPertamina in SPU with certain limits
Regarding the rule that the use of cellphones is prohibited in the gas station area, Irto said that the use of MyPertamina can be used as long as it is used at a certain distance from the nozzle.
“Yes, with a predetermined distance between the application and the nozzle,” he continued.
Irto explained that cellphones can be used at a safe distance of about 1 meter from the dispenser or gas station, and at a height of 1.5 meters from the floor.
In addition, the camera can also be used at a safe distance of 1 meter and it must be ensured that there is no flash or camera flash.

The gas station operators have been trained on how to safely transact using MyPertamina in the gas station area.
“So, each of us can be sure to stay safe, don’t be afraid to make transactions using cellphones in the gas station area. As long as we obey the restrictions,” said Irto.
