How to reshare a post in your story on Instagram

However, it seems that the app has changed since then to allow for a much simpler system when it comes to sharing your posts on your Instagram story. Here’s how to do it.

How to share a post on your Instagram story

Now that Instagram has gone back to the easier process, sharing a post to your story shouldn’t be too difficult.

To reshare a post on Instagram, you must:

  1. Open Instagram.
  2. Go to Post You want to share your story.
  3. click on the triangular share button under the picture.
  4. Choose ‘Add post to story.’
  5. Move and scale the image to your liking and add any text or stickers you want to add.
  6. press the ,Your story’ Upload button.’

You can share your own posts as well as other users’ uploads as long as they have enabled the feature.

How to enable story sharing

If you want to allow other people to share your posts, you need to make sure your settings allow it.

You can toggle this in your settings.

  1. Tap yours profile pic to go to your profile.
  2. Tap the three lines top right, then go to the settings.
  3. Click, ,Privacy’ then ,Story.’
  4. Look for the button next to “Allow story sharing” is rotated to the on position (Note: your account must be public for this option to be available.

Sharing posts to your story can be a great way to improve your own uploads as well as other people’s.
