We are going to explain to you how to create animated photos from your old photos or even the new ones as well, using MyHeritage’s Deep Nostalgia tool. It is an artificial intelligence that analyzes the features of a person that appears in the photos, and then creates a small animated video with Deep Fakes techniques.
In short, you are going to upload a photo showing a person’s face to this website, and she will analyze it and create a video in which the face moves slightly. Obviously, with the current photos it is not something so spectacular, because just as you have a photo of a relative you can have a video. But when they are old photos of a person who is no longer or is a memory of his childhood, seeing him move his head slightly can be shocking.
The procedure is really fast, and the web is very easy to use. In our example, I am going to use a black and white photo of me, a current photo. But remember that the tool was created especially for old photos that you have digitized, so with them the effect will be much more surprising.
Create animated photos with Deep Nostalgia

The first thing you have to do is enter the web of the function Deep Nostalgia from the MyHeritage portal, the URL of which is myheritage.es/deep-nostalgia. Once inside the web, what you have to do is press the button Upload a photo that appears in orange to start the process.

When you click on the button Upload a photo, a Windows Explorer window will open, and you will have to choose the photo you want to upload to create the animation with her. Another alternative option to pressing the button Upload a photo it is simply to open the file explorer of your computer and drag the photo to the web.

If it is the first time you use this function you will have to register on the web. Registration on the page is free, but it is necessary to be able to use this or other functions offered by the MyHeritage portal.

When you have registered, or simply when you upload the photo having logged in with your account before, a message will appear in which the web it will tell you that it is animating your photo. This is a process that may take a few seconds. What the web will do is repair the photo if it is old and has damage, and then it will animate it.

And that’s it, after processing the image you will be automatically taken to a page where you will be able to see the photo that you have uploaded in small, and in big you will see the animation that has been created with it. On the left, you will see options to download the video, which will be downloaded in MP4 format, or to share it directly on Facebook or Twitter. Next to the social networks you will see a button for a clip, which is used to save the link to the video on the clipboard and be able to paste it on other websites or apps.
