How to Clean and Maintain the iPhone 15 Series: Tips from Apple

KOMPAS.com – iPhone 15 series goes on sale in a number of countries. At the same time, Apple added the latest information regarding the use of its newest iPhone line.

One of them is about how to clean the iPhone 15 series, which is listed in Apple support page. On this page, Apple says that using the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max without a protective case will cause the color of the back shell to change momentarily.

“For iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, oil stains from your skin may momentarily change the color of the outer band,” wrote Apple on its official website.

One iPhone 15 Pro user also experienced the color changing due to fingerprint smudges. He made this complaint on platform X (formerly Twitter). The upload includes an image of the iPhone 15 Pro series body in Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium.

“Fingerprint (stains) look so bad. (Color) Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium,” wrote the account with the handle @andrewjclare.

The image shows the side body of the Pro version of the iPhone 15 looking dirty. When you look more closely, there are many fingerprints stuck to it. The colors appear faded and darker on the speaker buttons and Action Button.

So, to remove oil from fingerprints that stick to the body of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple recommends cleaning it carefully.

“Wipe your iPhone with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth, and (the color) will return to its original appearance,” advises Apple.

The method for cleaning devices that Apple applies also applies to previous generations of iPhones.

Apple also advises you to avoid liquids that contain cleaning solutions, as quoted by KompasTekno from 9to5Mac, Thursday (29/9/2023).

To prevent the device from scratches or fingerprints, users can use a protective case. However, if you are a user who doesn’t like wearing a case, make sure to clean your cellphone regularly.

For your information, the front and back bodies of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are made of glass. Meanwhile, the frame is made of titanium, which is claimed to be stronger and lighter at the same time.
