We are far from being done with viruses. Even when the Covid-19 pandemic can finally be brought under control, we will not be out of the woods. Not only are there hundreds of thousands of viruses in nature that can infect humans, but many others, often unknown, may resurface from the past as a result of global warming. Because the rise in temperatures melts the permafrost, which releases all kinds of microorganisms present in particular in the corpses of animals trapped in frost for thousands, even hundreds of thousands of years.
