Cloud Imperium has released a new video Star citizenthat introduces you to the Actor Status System.
This video demonstrates some of the elements of survival in the game and how you will need to prepare for what awaits you.
You will need to do more than just eat a diet when you are hungry, or put on a jacket in cold weather. Instead, the team is about to respond more realistically to the weather and other planetary conditions.
How it works, every room or planet will have a temperature. The planets will have humidity and icy breathing, which the player will have to take into account. It will also affect body temperature, which can lead to hypothermia or even hyperthermia depending on the weather on the planet.
These conditions can also lead to death if you become too cold or too hot.
Debuffs and food buffs will come into play. If you are too hot, you can drink some water or even eat to restore your stamina. Some medications also provide a slight restoration of health.
It will be up to you when it comes to protection against the elements, so consider taking some food or wearing a thermal suit before exploring the planet.
