TV Christmas will offer the rebel princess, the Christmas boy and Maria Theresa
His latest spectacle, How Not to Marry a Princess, will once again offer humor, tension and, of course, great love. And on top of that, a great cast, including the contemplative Prince Leopold, played by Marek Adamczyk, and the rebel Princess Josefina, played by Anna Fialová.
But let’s go back to the three judges – how did you go about casting them? Was it a difficult choice?
Judges play a very important role in our new fairy tale. It’s not that they show up at the beginning and then don’t interfere. On the contrary, they go through the story from start to finish, so we needed really magical creatures. In addition, they are written in such a way that they are not only perfect fairy-tale characters, but they also have things to do with each other. So to cast them, we had to “reach” for phenomenal actresses to stand out from everyone else. We didn’t choose them in any special way, it was our first choice – we wanted a star set like this: one good judge, one strict and one a little confused.

So what is their main task? I guess it’s a divination…
How else. Prince Leopold will marry a princess from a neighboring kingdom. Parents are happy about it, but their descendants are not at all. When the day comes for the princes to get married, which they still can’t come to terms with, they find out that the judges have a magic watch. Thanks to them, they can go back to past and future times, so they can borrow them without permission. He will go with them to the time when the trial was pronounced to try to prevent it. However, it will cause other much worse things that they will have to fix.
Time travel probably promises a nice trick show.
Definitely. For the second time, we collaborated with UPP on tricks. We didn’t want the result of our efforts to look like sci-fi. No light discs or “sucking”. We wanted to make them in a very fairytale spirit. In addition, the aforementioned studio created other gadgets for us, such as smoke from the castle, which of course we could not afford to light. But time travel is really a masterpiece!
Iva Janžurová: I’m a little confused
What will your judge be like?
I’m quite confused, both of my “colleagues” have to guide me a little and keep me from being ashamed.
What convinced you to play in the fairy tale?
When they called me with an offer of a role in a fairy tale, which will be directed by Karel Janák, I said to myself that I didn’t even have to read the screenplay by Petr Hudský. I accepted her right away.

In the fairy tale, you carry a magic watch with you. Where would you go with them?
I plan to return to my eighty when I’m one hundred and ten. So until now!
Nada Konvalinkova: I just say nice things
What about your judge?
Mine is good – I’m such a counterpart to Dana Kolářová and I just say nice things.
The audience also has you connected with the fairy tale Honza almost a king and children’s work in general. Does it suit you?
It is true that I have appeared frequently in television fairy tales. I also made a fairy tale in which I played a negative role, namely Horned Love. I also like Dance over two hells, where I played a devil.

Speaking of time travel – where would you go?
I would go back to the times when I could ask Grandma everything.
Daniela Kolářová: I am a strict teacher
What does your judge promise?
She is such a strict teacher who has the principle that she will tell the truth.
What is your relationship to fairy tales?
I grew up on fairy tales! My parents read them to us and later I read them myself. I still consider the book the most beautiful gift. One of my favorite fairy tales is The Snow Queen.
What period would you go to thanks to the magic watch?
Until I was ten or twelve years old, that is, until I could skate in Karlovy Vary.
