How does the PSSI Protest to AFF continue?

Jakarta

PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi has just been sent to Singapore to meet the members AFF and AFC. He was sent to discuss the continuation of the PSSI protest to the AFF.

Until now, the letter of protest from PSSI still has not received a reply from AFF. The federation previously protested to the AFF about the alleged unfair play between Vietnam vs Thailand.

Vietnam and Thailand played safe in the last match of Group A of the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup when the position was 1-1 in the 75th minute. The score was enough to take both of them to the semifinals as well as get rid of the U-19 Indonesian National Team.

PSSI took it seriously, starting from sending a letter of protest to AFF. And now sending Yunus Nusi to Singapore on July 22.

“Future coordination and communication related to activities that are within us and outside. Also related to regulations, yesterday (AFF U-19 2022) we were disadvantaged in the mini head to head standings. If we can find another (regulation) so that there is no gap again,” said PSSI chairman Mochamad Iriawan to reporters regarding Yunus Nusi’s visit to Singapore.

“That’s what I wanted when the Secretary General was there yesterday. Incidentally I assigned it to be more intensive. I discussed earlier that there was elephant football, it was blocked by the mini head to head standings system, we happened to be the losers. But again this must be closed again with regulations related,” he added.

Not only protesting and sending the Secretary General, PSSI previously also responded to the discourse of moving from the AFF to the East Asian Football Confederation (EAFF). The discourse was widely proposed on social media.

Iriawan explained that his party had considered the proposal. Even PSSI claimed to have established communication with EAFF.

“Our letter has not been answered by AFF. I ask, maybe this week it will be replied. I ask for what you want to answer quickly,” said Iriawan.

“So we know what their response is regarding the Thailand-Vietnam match yesterday. We’ll see if it’s appropriate? If we just play in ASEAN, we won’t move forward,” he said.
