According to Rob Schuurman, a virus like corona is not impressed by the cold. He is a clinical microbiologist at UMC Utrecht and often receives virus material.
‘Virus likes the cold’
“In the laboratory, we immediately freeze that virus material. If we thaw it later, it will still be viable,” he explains. So it is not the case that a virus ‘dies’ when there is cold or frost.
According to Schuurman, we know for sure that respiratory viruses prefer cold weather. He therefore expects that we will suffer just as much from the corona virus during this cold period.

Keep distance
