Legendary Czech actor Josef Abrham died May 16 at the age of eighty-two. The last farewell will be in the church of St. Anežka Česká at Spořilov in Prague on June 6 from 1 p.m.
She had his funeral at the same place beloved woman Libuška Šafránková († 68). Acting colleagues recalled the unique Abrham in an interview for eXtra.cz.
Touching memories of actors
He remembered Abrham, for example actor Jiří Krampol (83). „He was my classmate and friend from his youth, we knew each other, we shot together, we did radio, dubbing, but we became most friends when we shot the three-part Slovak film Štípku soli s Emilka Vášáryová,“ described in an interview Krampol. They filmed together for three and a half months in the Tatras, which is why they have a lot of memories.
“He was a great actor, but also a wonderful man. Such an introvert, but a wonderful person. I was terribly sorry. Krampol also revealed in an interview that he had not seen Abrham in the last five years. “He was so hidden,” he added.
Copta: Abrham is a pity
Also for Václav Kopt Abrham’s death was a surprise and a shock. He emphasized that everyone liked him. „I have not seen a single attack on Abrham. Especially on the part of readers who can be ruthless, especially in an anonymous regime. In the case of Abrham, I did not notice this, and this is generally confirmed by the fact that he was a fantastic actor, a decent man and deserves nothing but respect. He has done a lot for the theater and Czechoslovak cinema, ” betrayed the Copts.
And what is Copt’s favorite role for Abrham? „Game of a beautiful dragoon. Beautiful scenes with Vladimír Menšík. These are absolute acting concerts. It’s a pity for him (Abrháma, editor’s note), but it was a blessed life, ” added Copta.
Actor Vaclav Vydra he met Abrham only to shoot the film The Wedding Journey to the Giles. “I had a little role there, but basically we didn’t meet much,” he let himself be heard.
