MOP and CChC O’Higgins sign collaboration agreement to strengthen their public-private alliance – 2024-05-08 22:21:59

Promoting public investment, generating joint actions to value the work of both institutions and unblocking critical knots in contracts in execution, are part of the collaboration agreement signed by the Seremi of Public Works, María de los Ángeles Latorre and representatives of the Chamber Chilean Construction of O’Higgins.

The agreement signed within the framework of the first session of the Public Investment Roundtable, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works in the region, arises from the mandate of President Gabriel Boric to develop an agenda for economic growth and employment, which among other points considers the implementation of a series of measures that seek to unblock the critical knots in the current contracts that the MOP has with the private world.

In this regard, the seremi highlighted the role played by the Chilean Chamber of Construction of O’Higgins, since they are its “strategic allies” when executing public investment in the region. “Thanks to this alliance with the Chilean Chamber of Construction, we generate jobs and boost the local economy, through the purchase of products and/or services in the different territories where the MOP carries out its works. For this reason, this agreement ratifies and values a working relationship that generates benefits for the O’Higgins region and its inhabitants.”

Along the same lines, the president of the Infrastructure and General Contractor Committee of the CChC of O’Higgins, Francisco Cornejo, highlighted that “this agreement is very beneficial for us, as it allows us to increase participation in the different tenders that the MOP has, since which has a very powerful portfolio for this year, through the different directions such as Architecture, Health Services, DOH and Roads. It is very good to maintain this communication with the entity to attack those points where there is still a lack of fluidity, whether in the administrative part or in the payment statuses.”

The regional directors also participated in the meeting: from the DGA, Dayanna Aravena; of Roads, Maurice Dintrans; of Planning, Walter Blemith; of the DOH, César Acevedo and Richard Andrade, chief of staff of the Seremi of Public Works in O’Higgins. Meanwhile, representing the CChC O’Higgins, Francisco Donoso, Union Vice President, attended; Pilar Poblete, Vice President of Management; Francisco Cornejo, president of the General Contractors Committee and members of the union.
