How bad is actually butter for the heart?

Many people run away from butter like the Unclean, being convinced that the fat contained hurts the heart. In reality, however, if we limit ourselves to one tablespoon of butter a day, the impact of this type of fat is minimal. Moreover, it seems to reduce, albeit slightly, the risk of diabetes.

One of the largest studies to date on the consumption of butter has revealed that this food, consumed in moderate amounts, does not increase the risk of cardiovascular disease or stroke, informs Daily Mail.

The research conducted by Tufts University in Boston reviewed no less than nine studies conducted from 2005 to date on subjects from 15 countries, both in the US and European countries.

According to research, one tablespoon of butter a day – about 15 grams – means a 1% increase in the risk of mortality.

The scientists concluded that “there is no significant link between butter consumption and cardiovascular disease and stroke.”

Instead, research has shown that eating butter lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes by 4%.
