Adrian Duler is familiar to attentive readers with the name from the sports section, because the 25-year-old from Wrzburg plays in the football Bayern league for TSV Abtswind. The strengths of the midfielder, who also played for FC Bayern Mnchen in his youth: creativity, tactical thinking and understanding of the game. How creative the playmaker from the herbal village Abtswind is can now be seen. Duler took advantage of the football -free time and, together with two colleagues, brought out a card game. “Partout” is a trick-taking game in which the most important thing is good tactics and a clever way of playing.
Development began at the end of 2019. Actually, Duler and his two partners wanted to launch an app for game evenings and organize tournaments in Wrzburg and the surrounding area. But the corona pandemic thwarted them. Instead, the three of them developed their card game, which was intended for these evenings.
“That’s why ‘Partout’ had to meet certain conditions,” explains Duler. It’s a partner game, because then the inhibition threshold is smaller, he says. “Partout” can be played with four or six people. “Few of them come to an event alone or meet strangers via an app. When there are two of you, that’s different,” believes Duler. It must also be possible to award points for a game in order for the game to work in tournament mode.
“We got great feedback, developed the game over the last six months and now we have a great product.”

“You never reinvent the wheel in games,” explains Duler. But it is no coincidence that he is now launching a new game. Even as a child, he and his brother kept thinking about games and then introducing and playing them at family celebrations. From these experiences a trick game has now emerged that is reminiscent of a mixture of the well-known card games “Schafkopf”, “Waddeln” and “Wizard”. Before the round, each player announces how many of the maximum seven tricks he will take in a round. If he manages the tricks, there are bonus points. And courage is rewarded: you get four bonus points for one trick, but even 200 for all seven tricks.
Many special cards change the game
The game is played with 36 payment cards, from one to nine, in four different colors. There are also six special cards that can turn the game upside down. For example, if a player plays the alchemist, he may change the previously announced trump suit. To do this, a player may first determine the number that is above all other numbers. But of course this rule can also be flipped and the number changed if a player throws the mathematician in the middle.

Cards like the court jester, who can trump the special card king, or the dormitory, which picks up any card, make “Partout” a game in which the situation can change constantly. Tactical considerations have to be changed from round to round and in the end the winner of course always needs the necessary amount of luck.
“Partout” is also played at FC Bayern
“We got great feedback, developed the game further over the past six months and now we have a great product,” says Duler with certainty. Now it’s about making “Partout” better known, but Duler can also imagine inventing more games in the future. Partout has already been sold over 300 times. In autumn he wants to present the game at the toy trade fair in Essen, which is taking place digitally this time. “Making the leap to greater awareness is difficult,” explains Duler. So far, a lot has been about word of mouth. He was recently approached by an opponent about the game during a preparatory game in Erlangen.
And “Partout” has already arrived at his former youth club, FC Bayern Mnchen. During a visit to his former supervisor at the Bayern boarding school, Duler also donated three game sets to the record champions’ new junior campus. He also left a letter and a game for Thomas Mller, who keeps sharing his love for Schafkopf on social networks. An answer is still pending, however, possibly because Mller was still at the final tournament of the Champions League in Lisbon.
Partout can be on the Homepage of SpielMr can be ordered for 7.90 euros. There is also the game in Wrzburg in the bookshop “Neuer Weg” or in the gallery Zeychen and Wunder, both in the Sanderstrae.
