Houston records highest death toll from coronavirus in one day | Univision 45 Houston KXLN

Houston Texas. – Five people lost their lives for coronavirus in Houston, being the highest number recorded in a day in the city so far.

The Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, reported in a press conference on Sunday that with these five dead, the city has 69 people in total who have died from covid-19. 3,908 cases have been recorded and 774 patients recovered.

Turner recommended that despite the fact that many establishments began reopening since last Friday, May 1, he urged people that if they should not go out for work, continue to stay at home, maintain social distance and wear a mask.

The mayor expressed concern that residents have taken to the streets with the feeling that the virus is already gone and stressed that the coronavirus is still here.

Since Friday, May 1, the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, ordered to start the first phase of economic reopening. This is that shopping malls, restaurants, cinemas and museums will be able to reopen their doors although taking the necessary measures to prevent covid-19.
