The relatives of the man then alarmed the police on Saturday evening because the first search measures were unsuccessful.
“Since the man was seen in the area of the motorcross route in the late afternoon, several radio patrol car crews searched the area. A police helicopter was also used for the search measures in the forest area,” said a spokeswoman for the Chemnitz police on Sunday.
Despite the search, the man was gone. But around midnight, the rescuers were successful: “With the support of several hunting tenants and using thermal imaging cameras, the search could be found shortly before midnight in a forest in the area of the Old Geyrische Strasse,” said the police.

The man had fallen in his wheelchair, but was lucky in misfortune: he remained unharmed. He was able to return to his relatives that night.
