(CNN Spanish) — According to data of the National Service of Health Dominican Republichospitals and intensive care units for coronavirus are approaching a point of saturation in Santo Domingo and the province of Santiago.
Centers like the Hospital of the Police, the Marcelino Velez and Rodolfo de la Cruz the ICU are at a 100 % capacity and almost the same figure of the occupation have artificial respirators. While the Intensive Care Unit at the Ramon de Lara is a 90 % of capacity.
In the province of Santiago, known as the second capital of the country, the intensive care units are running at 79 % capacity.
In the same province, in hospitals, the use of respirators rises to 88 %.
In connection with the hospital beds, the occupancy rate hovers around 60 %, but rises to 73 % in private schools.
