Hospital in difficulty: Klinikum Bielefeld can only pay for electricity and gas with credit

Costs have tripled in one year – now the city has to contribute 7.3 million euros. But there are glimmers of hope.

Bielefeld. In order for the Bielefeld clinic to pay its electricity and gas bills in the next year, the city, as owner, will grant the hospital a loan of € 7.3 million. The city of Halle is also involved in the clinic. Their share is around € 900,000, for which a total of € 8.2 million is available.
