Horse startled by ‘thrown stones’ and breaks leg: police are looking for witnesses | Inland

The four-legged friend was in a horse stable on Zevenhuisterweg in the village of Ried, north of Franeker. Last Tuesday morning, the 41-year-old animal broke its leg, after which the vet saw no other option than to put the animal to sleep, the police reported on social media on Friday.

The horse was probably startled by stones that were thrown into the stable on Tuesday morning. It is believed that this happened between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The police are looking for witnesses.
