Red Bull crew chief Christian Horner sees a fourth race in the United States as feasible and believes New York would be the ideal destination. The British manager recalls that it is a great market and Formula 1 is becoming more and more popular there, so they could not say no to a new great show.
Formula 1 has grown exponentially in the United States in recent years and a clear example are the three races we want there this year with Miami, Austin and Las Vegas. Horner does not rule out having a fourth in the future and maintains that New York would be a great city for running, as well as an incredible show.
New York has been one of the most frequent venues for Formula E in recent years, with two races there in June. This year the electrical category has had to look for an alternative destination due to the works in the Brooklyn port area and looking to the future, they may be able to share a city with Formula 1.
“You can never say to a fourth race in the United States. We have other races in North America like Montreal and there is some demand, it is great that there is so much interest in Formula 1 on their part. A career in the Big Applefor example, would be an incredible show,” Horner said in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Horner is looking forward to the three races that Formula 1 will have in the United States, as both Miami -street circuit- and Austin -permanent- have proven to be very interesting events. In addition, with the arrival of Las Vegas this year in November, the excitement will not stop growing, since the premier class will visit one of the flagship cities in terms of entertainment.
“Running in big cities in the United States is really exciting.. We are lucky to be able to go to beautiful destinations like the Miami street circuit or the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Las Vegas is also going to be an absolute crazy event this year,” Christian said in conclusion.
