Hong Kong’s Xu Deen Wins Gold in Wushu at Chengdu Universiade

Hong Kong’s Xu Deen, who made his finale debut, scored 9.726 points and won the Hong Kong team’s first gold medal in this year’s Universiade. The Hong Kong team temporarily accumulated 1 gold and 1 silver.

Wushu has been selected for the Universiade since last year, and the Hong Kong team has sent 4 men and 3 women to compete in Wushu this time. The first Hong Kong general Liu Zilong won the silver medal in Men’s Nanquan with a score of 9.570, becoming the Hong Kong team’s first medal in this year’s Universiade.

Xu Deen

Afterwards, Xu De’en was the finale among the 12 men’s Tai Chi swordsmen. He scored 5 points and 4.726 points in the two parts of performance and technique respectively, with a total of 9.726 points. In the end, he defeated Sun Jiahong of Chinese Taipei by 0.016 points and won the Hong Kong team’s first gold medal in this year’s Universiade. The Hong Kong team also temporarily won 1 gold and 1 silver, all won by the Wushu team.

The silver medal in Men’s Tai Chi Sword was won by Sun Jiahong from Chinese Taipei.
