Honda’s Decline in MotoGP Continues: Joan Mir Reveals Sad Situation

Jakarta

Honda continues to decline in MotoGP. Repsol Honda rider Joan Mir even revealed that Honda’s situation was very sad.

Honda has not been able to play in MotoGP yet. Four Honda riders are still struggling to break into the top flight. Even worse, in the American MotoGP, only one Honda rider managed to touch the finish line, that being Luca Marini. However, Marini only finished in last place. At the same time, the other three riders failed to finish the race.

Seonag Mir said this situation was sad. He said he could not do anything as seen in the race at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas.

“Luca is the one who can still live. The situation is very sad. If you want to do something else, but you can’t. And what happens during the race is that you often in the middle group. When it’s close, one or two laps can go up, but in “On the third lap the motorcycle gives and then you fall,” explained Mir as reported by Motosan.

“This is a small decision, we must be strong, work hard, and continue to move forward from this situation which is still far from expected,” continued Mir.

In Austin, Mir had to struggle with this situation. In the end he had to be satisfied with falling and not continuing the race. Now he hopes that Honda will conduct a series of tests.

“I had a bad start and I think when you make a bad start at the back of the pack you end up in the first corner. We had a lot of problems at the moment. Once I warmed up I could for us to catch the group at the front, but I lost the rear at the sixth corner and then I fell,” he said.

“The intensity is there, but we are not on the right track. So I hope we still have an important test in Montmelo and we still have one more test to move forward, let’s say in the middle the season,” he hoped.

Of the three MotoGP races to be held in 2024, Honda is in the lowest position in the constructors’ standings. Honda has won only 8 points or a difference of 88 points from the leader Ducati. Likewise, in the team standings, LCR Honda and Repsol Honda are both just 7 points. LCR Honda is in 10th position, and Repsol Honda is in 11th position.
