The trial of “Home Alone” star, American actor Devin Rattray, on charges of rape and domestic violence was postponed, after his lawyers informed the court that he was admitted to the hospital “in a critical condition.”
A family member of Rattray (47 years old) told TMZ that the actor was discharged from the hospital in New York City, and is currently completing his treatment at home on the orders of the doctor, who stressed the need for him to remain completely rest.
The actor’s emergency medical condition caused his trial to be postponed and the selection of the jury during his next trial was delayed, after the sessions were scheduled to begin yesterday, Monday, and extend until next February.
To this moment, the circumstances surrounding the actor’s health condition remain ambiguous, and the date of his admission to the hospital has not been revealed, but court records indicate that his health problem occurred while he was outside the state of Oklahoma.
He participated in a large number of films, the most prominent of which was the “Home Alone” series, during his childhood. He became famous for his role as “Buzz McCallister,” the evil older brother of “Kevin McCallister” (actor Macaulay Culkin) in the film, which achieved great success in 1990, and a second part was produced from it. In 1992, he continued the successes of the first part.
The story of “Home Alone” revolves around an eight-year-old boy whose family forgets him at home, while they leave for another state to spend the holiday season, but the house is robbed, so the boy confronts the thieves in fraudulent ways over the course of two parts.
He reprized his role as “Baz” in a special part entitled Home Sweet Home Alone, which was produced and shown on the “Disney+” platform in 2022, and deals with the journey of children confronting thieves who attack the house in cooperation with their children. As for his most recent role, it was in 2022 when he played the role of Kevin in the movie Kimi and appeared in an episode of Better Call Saul.
The actor is facing charges of raping his girlfriend, Lisa Smith, in an incident dating back to 2017. In August 2022, she filed a lawsuit accusing him of raping her in Rattray’s apartment in Manhattan, and he denied all the accusations against him at the time.
In December 2021, a new friend of Ratri (whose name was not revealed) claimed that he tried to strangle her in a hotel in central Oklahoma, and she filed a report with the police one day after the incident, claiming that he punched her in the face, trying to strangle her.
As a result, he was arrested on charges of domestic assault, and was later released on $25,000 bail.
He appeared for the first time in court in February 2022.
