Judie Foster gives us a trial film on the stock market today. True explicit judgment on the current economic mode, the director uses several ideas to treat her subject.
But like the young terrorist, she is not subtle and rushes headlong into the crowd.
The outlaw, the presenter, the internal affair of a company that sank because of a rich capitalist without morals, the confessions of those responsible, the accomplice police, the media tongue in cheek, all the elements are present in order to denounce an immoral and failing economic system.

Yet money monster is too greedy. Too many events in such a short time. The suspense doesn’t have time to set in and bring enough palpable tension.
And concerning the substance, the subject has already been treated for ten years in a more subtle and deeper way.

The film doesn’t live up to its mission and only delves into hollow entertainment instead of drawing an objective critique of the American economy.
