The National Police have arrested in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria a 33-year-old man with 22 police records, as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of robbery with violence.

The detainee robbed two taxi drivers, placing a sharp object on their neck, threatening them if they did not hand over everything they had.

He hit one of them several times until he managed to snatch his mobile phone, with which he was able to alert the police before.

The sector professional managed to get out of the taxi and call the National Police with his mobile phone, while he was repeatedly beaten by the individual who managed to steal his mobile and flee the scene.

A patrol of agents went to the scene, arresting the author hidden under a car parked nearby, with the phone stolen and a piece of glass broken.

The taxi driver had to be assisted in a medical center for the injuries he presented and later the police officers gave him his phone.

Another robbery committed an hour and a half before

Another taxi driver had alerted the telephone number 091, an hour and a half earlier, that he had been robbed by a client on Domingo Guerra del Rio street in the capital of Gran Canaria.

In that case, the individual paid the taxi driver for the ride by handing him a 50-euro bill and when he received the change, the author placed a sharp object on him so that he would give him all the money.

The individual fled on foot through an alley with the 120 euros of the proceeds.

The police steps taken could prove the alleged participation of the detainee in these events.
