With a furious assault, four goals in less than 17 minutes and a 5-2 win over Lugano, EV Zug returns to the top of the table in the National League.

The Zugers started the game cautiously, which had been scheduled for the first time a month ago, but was then canceled because Lugano had not made it through the closed Gotthard tunnel (after an accident) on arrival. Zug conceded three two-minute penalties in the first eight minutes and consequently fell behind with twice the number.

After that, however, the EVZ began to attack. Santeri Alatalo equalized (17th). Forty seconds after the first break, Gregory Hofmann, once Lugano’s most important player, overtook everyone in Ticino standing on the ice and finished his dream solo with a 2: 1. Carl Klingberg and Raphael Diaz secured the win early on after 33 minutes with two goals within 23 seconds to make it 4-1. In the final section, Hofmann managed a second goal to make it 5-2.

Näser and Fadani make their debut for Lugano

Zug won 10 of the last 13 games, recently scored eight times in a row and took the lead again after 34 days.

Lugano entered for the first time without Philipp Kurashev, who like his NHL colleagues from other teams said goodbye to North America (Chicago). Two 19-year-olds made their debut at Lugano: Jari Näser, son of the former international Andy Näser (player at Davos and Lugano), who has been on Lugano’s board of directors since his resignation ten years ago (as Vice President), also came to his National League- Debut as goalie Davide Fadani, who replaced Niklas Schlegel after the 1: 4 in front of Lugano’s housing.
