H&M introduces a new payment system: customers no longer need cash or cards

The new payment option is subject to conditions. H&M customers must have subscribed to the H&M Club loyalty program. Registration is free. At the checkout, members must open the H&M app and show the barcode that is displayed on the smartphone. This code counts as a payment request and invoice confirmation at the same time.- The H&M app usually contains the address, telephone number, date of birth, email and also the loyalty points from the H&M Club program. The data (name, address and date of birth) are sent to Klarna, whereupon payment can be authorized via credit bureaus (such as Schufa).-

From this point on, customers have a total of 14 days to pay the invoice. If the deadline passes and Klarna does not receive the money, reminder fees will be charged. Customers can also arrange installment payments via the app. Payment is made via the subsidiary Sofortüberweisung. Customers can therefore pay either by credit card, bank transfer or direct debit.

If you want to return the goods, you can register the return in the H&M app and hand it in later in the shop. H&M had already successfully tested Klarna’s payment in the UK and Sweden. Now the service is also coming across the German branches.
