Hit by Marco Borsato causes a big riot in Germany: ‘Was my pride’

To the German site image Angelika tells her story. At the end of 2020 she already knocked on Universal Nederland’s door to cover the song. “They then told me that I had to record the song first, then they would decide further,” said Angelika. And so it happened: Angelika was working on her version of ‘Hoe Het Danst’, but was shocked when she Helene Fischer’s version heard on the radio.

Angelika has been working on the song for more than half a year and the video for the song was even finished last week. “I was really proud of the result (…)”

The singer is very disappointed with Helene’s cover. “That hurts. I was already prepared, wanted to present the song to people. It was my baby, my pride. Suddenly I hear the song in the car and at first I thought there was a hidden camera in the car. I wanted it do not believe.”

Since Angelika still doesn’t own the rights for the cover, despite her hard work, and Helene is much more famous, she doesn’t want to release the song officially anymore.

Incidentally, Marco Borsato reacts frantic to the cover of Helene. ‘I heard that Helene Fischer released a beautiful version of ‘Hoe Het Danst’. All three of us are of course very proud that the greatest artist in Germany has recorded our song,” a spokesperson told RTL Boulevard.
