A 20-year-old Veronese boy died after being hit by a boulder detached from the wall of the Grotta dell’Orso, in the Lessinia mountains, in Velo Veronese. The dynamics of the accident are not yet fully understood. The young man was at the entrance to the “covolo”, as the natural caves of the Lessini are called. The large chunk of rock hit him in the back, causing fatal injuries. The 118 health workers intervened on the spot with the helicopter sent from Trento and with an ambulance, the Alpine Rescue and the carabinieri, but for the twenty-year-old there was nothing more to do.
