“I’m writing a novel, or rather trying to sketch, not at all about this (about my business. – RT), and about the Russian cavalry officer sent to Paris after the conclusion of the Tilsit Peace as an assistant to Prince P. Volkonsky, whom Alexander I instructed to study, I would say, “the science of defeating” the Napoleonic army. This is a stunningly interesting page in Russian-French history, almost unknown so far neither in Russia nor in France, ”Sokolov said.
According to the historian, while he is sketching, friends send him scanned pages of books that interest him.
“This is (work and write. – RT) the only way to survive a terrible nightmare, ”he added.
Earlier court upheld the decision to arrest Sokolov until September 24th.
According to the investigation, on November 7, 2019, Sokolov shot and killed Yeshchenko, and on the night of November 9 he decided to get rid of the body and dismembered it, after which he tried to drown the remains in the Moika River.
