* The series “Midlife Crisis” managed to achieve a state of controversy, weren’t you afraid of it?
** We expected that the series would cause that state of anxiety because of its bold topic, but the idea is that this topic is present in society, and many strange things may happen, and therefore we discuss it. The composition and theme of the series are bold, and it was an adventure that drew me to it strongly, and I was in safe hands with director Karim El Adl, as I felt comfortable and not nervous even in the face of what was said about the work.
* Many have confirmed that the work is a copy of the Turkish series “Al-Ushq Al-Mamnoua”… What is your comment?
** The work is not similar to “Forbidden Love”, and I am surprised by some people who spread this rumor, and we made an abnormal effort to produce the series in this elegant way, and for this it achieved great success. And the controversy raised for me is a success, whether there are positive or negative reactions, this means that the audience talks about the series, and everyone has his opinion, and whoever does not like the series is free, and whoever likes it we thank him.

How did you find the reactions to your role?
** I loved the “Salami” character very much, I coexisted with that character in fact, and I felt its details, as it is one of the characters that I most believed in, and I was very happy with the reactions, and the most prominent of them was that they felt that she was a real person. I was also very happy with the feedback because I am keen to keep the topic real.

* You introduce the addicted character for the first time, so how did you prepare for it?
** I prepared the character with director Karim El Adl and artist Karim Fahmy. We discussed “Salma” and how I see her and how he sees her, and it took me a lot of time in her preparations. And with the stylist, we talked about the shape and clothes until we reached its final form. For example, the character used to appear without make-up or any cosmetics all the time. I also read about the drug used by Salma, and I watched a number of documentaries about addiction and how they are affected by that substance when it enters the body. I also visited some addiction clinics to reveal to the audience their harms, and not to get close to them through dramatic work.
* What attracted you to present the character “Salma”, who suffers from addiction and is a victim of family problems?
** I think that what attracted me to the character of “Salma” is her complete difference from my real personality, so I felt her and sympathized with her experience and it affected me a lot during filming, and talking about the character became tiring for me, just as the way of telling the story of “Salma” in the Midlife Crisis series I liked Seriously, I saw that it was different and was excited to introduce it.

* A character with all these details, did you find it difficult to get rid of them after the end of filming?
** Of course, the character “Salma” exhausted and tired me, and it took me a very long time to know how to get out of it. I am trying to separate by going back to my personal life, and I go to a psychiatrist who helps me get out of this situation. There were many difficult scenes, and the most difficult of them was the confrontation scene with Karim Fahmy in the hotel room, because the character himself is difficult. The director requested that the scene be like this in order to extract all my feelings and destroy anything in front of me.
* Weren’t you afraid of being compared to other artists who played addicted roles in previous works?
** I was afraid in all cases, and all I worked on was to strive and make an effort, and the result was only left to God, and I cared about making the character seem real and the audience believed, sympathized with and felt it, and that is all the effort that I can make.

* Did you give a different experience by singing to Hamid Al Shaeri?
** The song “Awda” by Hamid Al Shaeri has always been dear to our hearts. I tried to present nostalgia with a touch of modernity, through the Anghami music platform, the first song in my voice, which was presented by the artist Hamid Al Shaeri years ago, but with a new distribution, but that was not my experience. The first to sing. I previously presented the opening song of the Cairo International Film Festival at its 43rd session, “Cinema of Life”, and it was composed by the great artist Hani Shenouda, and I was pleased with the audience’s reactions to it, but I hope to present a lyrical film. I am also thinking of releasing a separate song. There is a “cover” that I will release soon, and I hope that the audience will like it.
* Did you find yourself in acting more than singing?
** I found myself more in acting, and I achieved in it what I did not achieve in singing, although I know how to sing and have a good voice, and I learned to sing, but I do not have the audacity to confront people by singing, and I do not know the reason. I feel that the subject needs more courage, maybe I will sing, but in a joking way, not in a serious way.
* And what about the series “Tales of Girls”, will there be a new part of it?
** So far, there has been no talk about a new part of the series “Tales of Girls”, but I hope so. I love this series very much and its scenes, and my relationship with the heroines is good. Every once in a while we communicate. We don’t talk much because we are busy with our work, but we always check on each other.
* Will you participate in the Ramadan 2023 drama race?
** I will not be present in the race in Ramadan 2023, but, God willing, there will be many works later.
Can we say that your chances of working have decreased after marriage?
** After marriage, the job opportunities that were actually offered to me decreased, and one of them advised me that I must respond to the social media that my departure from art because of marriage is not real and that it has no effect on my work, as it was necessary for me to respond to all of these matters.
