The A58 at Moergestel in the direction of Eindhoven was reopened on Wednesday night after many hours. At Moergestel, since Wednesday afternoon, man and power had been working on the recovery of a truck, which ended up in the ditch next to this highway on Wednesday morning.
A grab crane demolished the first trailer behind the truck, because it was badly damaged. From the second trailer, salvage companies took supermarket items for a second life.
After the truck with two trailers had been recovered, Rijkswaterstaat carried out repair work. For example, a large piece of guardrail was replaced. On Wednesday afternoon, a spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat called the salvage ‘complicated’.

Traffic that wanted to drive from Rotterdam to Eindhoven was diverted via the A59 and A2 due to the work. From Tilburg to Eindhoven, traffic had to drive on the A65, N65 and A2.
