Flying reporters Flo, Laura and Brahim spent the whole week taking their life-size microphones to all kinds of campaigns and projects. Laura’s last stop is in Antwerp at Punt vzw. This organization wants to bring victims of sexual violence together, to share their experiences and support each other.
Punt vzw was founded shortly after the march against sexual violence, after the death of Julie Van Espen, the girl who was raped and murdered. Punt vzw has set up four additional groups of fellow sufferers as part of De Warmste Week, says Sofie, the organization’s communication manager. She herself became a victim of sexual violence, and wrote a book about it, “Enough silence”.
“Sexual violence happens to a lot of people. In my case, a boy I was in love with abused me. Perpetrators of sexual violence are very often people who know the victims.”
