Hezbollah Targets Israeli Army Soldiers and Settlements with Assault Drones, Rockets: Escalation at Lebanese-Israeli Border

The Lebanese Hezbollah published scenes that it said showed its fighters targeting gatherings of Israeli army soldiers behind its positions in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with assault drones, and other scenes included targeting the “Beit Hillel” workshop of the occupation army near the southern border.

Hezbollah said that it targeted the Kiryat Shmona settlement, northern Israel, with thirty Katyusha rockets, “in response to repeated Israeli crimes, the most recent of which was targeting civilian homes in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon.”

On the other hand, the Israeli army announced the bombing of the outskirts of Naqoura, Yarin, and Tayr Harfa in the western sector of southern Lebanon, confirming the destruction of Hezbollah’s infrastructure.

“The enemy will pay the price.”

The party had mourned one of its fighters after an Israeli raid targeted a house in southern Lebanon, while official media reported that two of his civilian relatives were also martyred with him.

Since the outbreak of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, on October 7, the occupation army and Hezbollah have exchanged bombardments on a daily basis across the border. The party constantly announces that it targets military points and sites, most of them with anti-tank missiles.

Yesterday, the party held a funeral in the city of Bint Jbeil for the victims of the recent Israeli raid, including its fighter. The National News Agency said: “The young man Ali Bazzi, his brother Ibrahim, and his brother’s wife Shorouk Hammoud were martyred, and a fourth person from the Bazzi family was injured in the air strike that occurred on Tuesday night.

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah said during the funeral: “The resistance will not tolerate the targeting of civilians, and that every crime that increases our determination to remain here, we will respond to it and the enemy will pay its price.”

He added: “No crime against civilians will pass without the enemy paying the price.”

“Confrontation plans on the northern front”

On the other hand, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy announced on Wednesday evening that “the Northern Front agreed to a variety of plans to continue the military confrontation with Hezbollah,” as this came during an assessment of the situation he conducted with the Commander of the Northern Command, Major General Uri Gordin. And other leaders, according to a statement by the Israeli army published on its website.

Halevy said: “Our first task is to return the population safely, and this will take time,” referring to about 60,000 residents of northern Israel who were evacuated from their homes, due to confrontations with Hezbollah. He added: “Today (Wednesday) we agreed to a variety of plans to continue, and we must be prepared to attack if necessary.”

Halevy considered that “the Israeli army and the Northern Command are at a very high level of preparedness.” He continued: “So far, the process here has been managed in a correct and strict manner, and that is how it must continue.” He added, “The residents of the northern region of Israel will not be returned to Israel without security and a feeling of security.”

The escalation at the border in southern Lebanon since October 8 has resulted in the death of at least 160 people in Lebanon, including more than 110 Hezbollah fighters and at least 17 civilians, including three journalists, according to an Agence France-Presse tally, compared to the killing of 13 Israeli people. At least nine of them were soldiers.
