The President of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate in Beirut, Professor Youssef Bakhash, and the Syndicate Council denounced, in a statement, “the armed attack on the clinic of a member of the Syndicate Council, Dr. Jaafar Abbas, and his wife, Dr. Haifa Dabouq, under the pretext of obtaining the immediate file of a patient.”
The statement stated, “It is not the first time that the medical staff has been subjected to similar attacks. If the attackers were punished, such attacks would not have been repeated.”
And he called on “the security forces to inflict the most severe penalties on the aggressor, so that he can serve as an example to others, especially since the doctor is doing humanitarian work.”
