When looking for short-term reinforcement, Hertha found what they were looking for. Ex-national player Sami Khedira is about to move to Berlin, according to Sky information.
The 33-year-old should do the medical check on Sunday morning and then sign a contract with the old lady. Khedira has been in the capital since Saturday. At first he had Kicker reported about an upcoming change.
“We are dealing with him,” confirmed Hertha boss Carsten Schmidt Sky90 on Sunday, “but there are still many questions to be clarified.”
Khedira has not been used this season
The world champion is currently under contract with the Italian top club Juventus Turin from 2014 until next summer. The central midfielder was not used there in the current season, however, and there has been speculation about the departure of the cleared player for some time.
Switching to Hertha would be a return to the Bundesliga after more than ten years. In the summer of 2010, Khedira moved from VfB Stuttgart to Real Madrid, where he once won the Champions League.
