The Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary has approved this Thursday the lists of candidates to fill three positions in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, as well as those corresponding to the presidencies of the TSJC and the Provincial Court of Ourense.

Pedro Herrera is a magistrate of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas, Juan Luis Lorenzo is in charge of the Exclusive Civil Registry of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and José Félix Mota serves as a magistrate in the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

On the other hand, the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, Jesús Barrientos, and that of the National Court, José Ramón Navarro from Tenerife, are two of the 15 candidates for three positions of magistrate in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court .

The shortlists are practically the same for the positions of Luciano Varela, Francisco Monterde and Alberto Jorge Barreiro in the Supreme Court, since 13 of the 15 magistrates are running for all three.

In addition to Barrientos and Navarro, among the applicants are four judges of the Provincial Court of Madrid who are Joaquín Delgado, María del Rosario Esteban, Maria Pilar Rasillo and Eduardo Urbano; and Leopoldo Puente from the Madrid TSJ.

Concepción Espejel, Ángel Hurtado, Manuela Fernández, Juan Ramón Sáez and Teresa Palacios are from the National Court. The short list is completed by Lorenzo del Rio, from the TSJ of Andalusia; Javier Hernández of the TSJ of Catalonia; and María Dolores Hernández from the Valencia Court.

The Hearing of Ourense will be disputed between Ana María del Carmen Blanco and Antonio Piña, current president who ends his term and aspires to renew it.
