“I cannot describe how terrible it was to lie temporarily paralyzed on the floor and not feel any sensation from my neck to my legs for at least half an hour,” Herlings writes.
“The doctors told me I got through the eye of the needle and was lucky not to be paralyzed. They say I will fully recover from this injury. I have three minor fractures and the recovery will not take too long. . “
Due to the crash, Herlings already missed three Grands Prix and lost the lead in the World Cup standings. De Brabander says he is sorry that he cannot give his sponsors and fans a new world title this season.
