Users are free to install their profile photo in the Whatsapp application to complete their identity so that they can be easily recognized by other users. However, for a reason privacy, some people don’t want to show their profile picture. So they prefer to hide it from a certain number of people.
Hiding profile photos can be done using third-party applications. However, to be more secure, the Whatsapp application itself has provided settings or settings to hide profile photos by default. Then how to hide WhatsApp profile photo from certain people?
Citing the WhatsApp page, hiding profile photos can be done in two ways. First, You can delete it permanently. This means that everyone, including your saved contacts, can’t see your profile picture.
Second, You can hide your profile photo through the privacy menu in the Settings/Settings feature. This way, you don’t delete your photo but instead change the settings regarding who can see your profile photo. Here are the steps:
1. Open application Whatsapp on your phone.
2. Click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.
3. Select ‘Settings’, then click ‘Account’.
4. Next select ‘Privacy’, click ‘Profile Photo’.
5. At this stage, options will appear regarding who can see your profile photo. The options are:
- Everyone (if you want all your contacts to be able to see your profile picture)
- My contacts (if you want all contacts to be able to see your profile picture)
- My contacts except… (if you want all contacts to be able to see your profile picture, except for certain contacts you choose)
- None (if you don’t want all your contacts to see your profile picture)
6. You can only choose one
7. After that, click ‘Finish’
