Here Is The “Insider” who Helped Maria Lumowa Bobol Bank BNI Cash Up To Rp 1.7 Trillion

KOMPAS.TV – The hunt for Maria Pauline Lumowa, fugitive perpetrators of burglary cases Bank BNI of Rp 1.7 trillion has finally ended. Maria was arrested in Serbia and will be repatriated to Indonesia this morning (09/07/2020).

Maria Pauline Lumowa is one of the suspects in the cash theft bank BNI Kebayoran Baru branch through fictitious Letter of Credit (L / C).

In the period from October 2002 to July 2003, Bank BNI disbursed loans worth 136 million US dollars and 56 million Euros or equal to Rp 1.7 Trillion at the current exchange rate to PT Gramarindo Group owned by Maria Pauline Lumowa and Adrian Waworuntu.

The action of PT Gramarindo Group is suspected of getting help from ‘insiders’ because BNI continues to approve L / C guarantees from Dubai Bank Kenya Ltd., Rosbank Switzerland, Middle East Bank Kenya Ltd., and The Wall Street Banking Corp which are not correspondent banks Bank BNI.

In June 2003, BNI suspicious of PT Gramarindo Group’s financial transactions began an investigation and found that the company had never exported.

The alleged fictitious L / C was then reported to the National Police Headquarters, but Maria Pauline Lumowa had already flown to Singapore in September 2003, a month before being named a suspect.

Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly, even intervened and picked up Maria Lumowa, of Serbia.

Now the main step is not just shrewdness, the police to continue the investigation but also no less important to restore the country’s losses.

ICW researcher Agus Sunaryanto mentioned that there were 2 police officers who were also involved in the Maria case. Even funds from this case flowed to many parties.
