Here is the first image of a black hole darkening in the middle of the Milky Way

The Event Horizon Binoculars wrote history again: soha has never taken a photo of a black hole in the center of the Milky Way.

It’s a little over three years since the photo was taken showing a black hole for the first time in human history. The scientifically sensational image was taken by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) of a black hole in the center of Messier’s 87 giant galaxy, about 55 million light-years from Earth and weighing 6.5 billion times the Sun. The photograph has historical significance in several respects, one such reason being the decisive certainty it gave to Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity, according to which the scientist predicted the existence of black holes.

However, the image just published depicts not this object, but a supermassive black hole and shadow in the middle of the Milky Way, and the image is also attributed to the International Scientific Collaboration of the Horizon of Events Horizon. It is located about 26,000 light-years from Earth darkening object it is called Sagittarius A (asterisk) and is close to the border of the constellations Sagittarius and Scorpio. The photo confirms decades of hard research, including the assumption that there really is a black hole in the middle of our galaxy.

The all-consuming black holes have been driving researchers ’imaginations for many decades, and although one or two things have already been discovered about the night giants, scientifically speaking, scientists are still only groping in the dark. What we know for sure is that it is an object from which nothing, even light, can escape due to strong gravity.
