Herd Immunity, Hundreds of Residents of Class IIB Banjar Prison Vaccinated

banjar news, (harapanrakyat.com),- In order to form herd immunity, hundreds of residents of Class IIB Lapas Banjar, West Java, participated in the first dose of vaccination. The vaccination that took place in the prison hall was carried out by the Health Service Banjar City for two days, namely Thursday-Saturday (15-17/07/2021).

In the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination, as many as 418 of the total 428 residents assisted by the Class IIB Banjar Penitentiary, received the first dose of vaccine injection. Meanwhile, 10 inmates have not received vaccinations because they are undergoing assimilation.

Head of the Class IIB Banjar Prison, Muhammad Maulana said the vaccination activity was an effort to protect and strengthen the immune system of the inmates, so as not to be exposed to Covid-19.

“This vaccination to form herd immunity, and efforts to protect the health of the inmates from exposure to the Corona virus,” he explained, Saturday (17/07/2021).

Considering the large number of inmates, Maulana continued, the implementation of the first dose of vaccination will last for two days, from 15 to 17 July 2021.

His party expressed his gratitude to the Banjar City Government, in this case the Health Office for carrying out vaccinations for hundreds of residents in Banjar Prison.

“Alhamdulillah, so far it has been going well. After receiving the vaccine, the inmates are also in good health,” said Maulana.

Meanwhile, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Banjar City Health Office, dr. H. Agus Budiana said that for the first day there were 104 inmates who participated in the vaccination.

Meanwhile, on the second day, more than 287 inmates took part in the vaccination, and there were several people who were delayed. “There are only 13 people who have been delayed, the others have been vaccinated,” he said. (Muhlisin / R3 / HR-Online)
