This new case, detected in wildlife, has led the prefect of the Hérault to sign a new decree. Its objective is to expand the temporary control zone (ZCT) established on November 16, 2022 following the case identified in the commune of Vauvert (Gard). The system now includes the following sectors: Baillargues, Boisseron, Candillargues, Castries, La Grande-Motte, Lansargues, Lunel, Lunel-Viel, Marsillargues, Mauguio, Mudaison, Restinclières, Saint-Aunès, Saint-Brès, Saint-Christol, Saint -Geniès-des-Mourgues, Saint-Just, Saint-Nazaire-de-Pézan, Saint-Sériès, Saturargues, Valergues, Verargues and Villetelle.
