The promise of the documentary is ambitious: Renaud told by his relatives. His twin brother, David Séchan, and his sister Sophie, who had remained silent until then, are thus the main witnesses. Entitled “Renaud, my brother, the favorite singer of the French”, the film retraces the singer’s life since his earliest childhood, a privileged theme of the singer who was at the heart of his album “Les mômes et les enfants avant” released in November 2019.
The brother and sister share their memories of past childhood with the one who will become a star of French song, and present numerous family archives, most of which are unpublished.
In the narration, we find his twin brother: David Séchan, who regularly gives news and denies rumors. Present alongside Renaud from the start, he tells everything from the inside and paints an authentic portrait of the singer.

There are also more recent images of Renaud during a visit by his brother to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

The documentary is not limited to the words of the Séchan siblings but also presents the unpublished stories of his friends and companions of youth: Pia Moustaki (friend of Renaud and daughter of Georges Moustaki), Dridda Perrier (ex-girlfriend of Renaud) , Michel Pons (Renaud’s first accordionist) and Mourad Malki (Renaud’s friend).
Ingrid Betancourt also takes part in the documentary and delivers a moving testimony whereas the singer was mobilized when she was hostage of the Farc between 2002 and 2008. Renaud had written the song “In the jungle” and organized several events and concerts of support .
