On Sunday, it became clear that Henning Berg will take over AIK after Andreas Brännström. On Tuesday, around twelve o’clock in the morning, he landed at Arlanda where he was picked up by several AIK leaders, including the sporting director Thomas Berntsen, and then it was straight to Karlberg where he held his first training session at 15:00.
About 200 people were there and followed 40 minutes of training, before it was closed and everyone was allowed to go home.
Body coach Palmar Hreinsson was in charge of the warm-up. Then Henning Berg took over and first started an exercise where the players were divided into two small areas where the team that had the ball could only use three strikes and where it was up to the opponents to quickly take the ball and then let the other team chase.
That exercise was over when 40 minutes had passed, when the training was therefore closed to the media and spectators.
But on the way out, it was seen that Berg divided the players into two teams for games.

After the training, several people with insight from the closed training told us that Henning Berg was extremely clear about what he wanted, that he often stopped the game and gave loud instructions, and that at some point he was perceived as quite tough in his tone towards players.
When Football Channel asks team captain Alexander Milosevic about how he experienced Henning Berg’s first training, he answers:
– It was quite tough. Not over the top, but still good. He was clear about what he wanted. It was good.
– It was a good training. It was intense. Good quality.
He broke the game many times and was clear about how he wanted it?
– Exactly. There were no big changes, mostly how he wanted us to press. It feels good.
Omar Faraj agrees:
– It was nice to get to know him and to get started. He seems like a wise coach. Good defensive thinking.
– He was very clear. It was probably because time is so tight until the next match. So he doesn’t have two or three months to prepare a team. There are only four days until the match. Therefore, he needs to be clear. It is good.
The media were not allowed to talk to Henning Berg on the grounds that he is doing interviews on Wednesday. But the Football Channel still made an attempt when he was on his way into the dressing room.
What is it like to be on site in AIK?
– Great.
What do you think of your first training here?
– It was good.
Perhaps Henning Berg’s clarity had rubbed off among the staff at AIK? Because after the two questions, press manager Stefan Mellerborg broke in and said:
– That’s enough. No more questions.
Then Henning Berg smiled and joked with the press manager:
– Unfortunately. Stefan is very strict with me.
