“Heavy Traffic to Puncak: More Than 30 Thousand Vehicles Enter the Tourist Area”

Jakarta

Traffic goes to the tourist area of Puncak, Regency Bogor, West Java (West Java), is still crowded until midnight. The density occurs both from the toll road and arteries.

“Until 23.40 WIB, as we saw, vehicles heading to Puncak were still flowing from Jakarta, both those leaving the Ciawi Toll Road and the arteries,” Bogor Police Chief AKBP Iman Imanuddin told reporters, Monday (24/4/2023).

Iman predicts several reasons for the heavy traffic. First, because there are drivers heading towards Sukabumi avoiding the via Parungkuda route.

“So that you can go to Sukabumi via the Puncak route,” he said.

Second, continued Iman, drivers avoid even and odd numbers. So the riders choose to go to the Peak at night.

“The third possibility is that they already have an appointment with the inn or hotel where they will stay. We are still concerned about keeping this flow going,” he explained.

30 Thousand Vehicles Enter the Peak

Iman previously said that there was a significant increase in the volume of vehicles going to Puncak today. More than 30,000 vehicles have entered the Puncak area until tonight.

“It was recorded that more than 30,000 two- and four-wheeled vehicles entered the Puncak area. As a result, the Puncak area was observed to be quite dense until Sunday night,” said Iman.

Apart from tourists, Iman said that the vehicles that pass through Puncak are also people who want to stay in touch with family and relatives. He had placed his members at the bottleneck points.

“Until now we are still carrying out efforts to regulate traffic flow until tonight, all of our personnel are stationed at the centers of congestion points,” he explained.
