heat stroke in the schools!

This Friday, June 17, the thermometer is climbing in the region. In schools, we organize ourselves to allow students to better pass this course.

up to 33°c in the Dijon conurbation today. A dreaded peak of heat, but parents and schools have anticipated.

Cap, hat, water bottle… This morning, the children of La Fleuriée elementary school in Saint-Apollinaire in Côte-d’Or arrived well equipped to face the heat wave. A mother, who has just dropped off her child at the gate, confides: “It’s not a cause for concern, they manage well, they had water to cool off, so it’s going well, we trust the educational team. We’re not worried.”

A father of a family declares about his son that the “Nights are more complicated, he wakes up in particular at night to go drink. It’s sure that sleep is a little disturbed. But hey, it’s okay, it’s still in good shape!”

Already 25 degrees in the classroom at 9 a.m., some students seem to be feeling the pinch. The mistress has her tricks to refresh the premises and the spirits.

Common sense remains the best defense against the heat wave!

Cécile Magnien, director of the elementary school “La Fleurie” in Saint-Apollinaire explains the actions carried out at the school: “we close the curtains, the shutters, we allow the students to come with their water bottle and to drink during class time. We organize the day with class times that take place outside, so that they can enjoy a little bit of air which is more pleasant than within the classroom during the afternoon.”

Sports activities, on the other hand, have been completely suspended. The recesses are arranged in “quiet time” under the courtyard or under the trees. And at noon, in the canteen, there was watermelon as a starter, the other cool moment of the day.
