The unbridled increase in daily infections has led to Canary Islands Government to design new measures to reduce the transmission of the coronavirus on the island of Tenerife. The Ministry of Health has designed three measures that will be applied this weekend immediately: screening, a new strategy for the detection of mutations and more vaccinated in the Santiago Martín.
There are three measures that the Minister of Health has explained, Blas Trujillo, after his appearance in the Parliament of the Canary Islands and before being part of the meeting of the Technical Hospitality Board where they will design what measures will be adjusted to the new epidemiological context of Tenerife after the order of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands that allows the opening of the interiors.
Specifically, the Government of the Canary Islands will use the formula for the antigen test for three areas of the island: the Santa Cruz neighborhood of Barranco Grande, where 16,034 people will be analyzed, the La Cuesta neighborhood, in La Laguna (8979) and Granadilla (28,034). These three areas are of particular concern, although the possibility of screening another eight is also contemplated: Los Gladiolos, Ofra and Las Delicias (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Taco and Finca España (La Laguna), Arona and Arona Costa 1 and Vilaflor.
These places have been selected taking into account the seven-day accumulated incidence data that exceeds 100 cases, the number of cases that have no links to each other, and the considerable increase in the accumulated incidence trend.

Specifically, the document warns that the control of these people in a situation of maximum vulnerability is not easy and, mixed with the delicate epidemiological context of the island of Tenerife, it is available through the order of mandatory isolation in two prepared centers for that purpose in the south of the island.
Meanwhile, forty-seven people have already left the center after testing negative in the second test after completing the ten-day isolation period. About 40 others, considered close contacts, will remain in the centers, if the judicial authority finally decides that they can continue in them.
