Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – After the tightening of measures against the spread of the corona virus, the number of infections in Offenbach continues to rise. Meanwhile, the so-called incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days, is 55.1 cases, the city announced on Sunday. A total of 19 new cases of infection have been registered since Friday, including 9 return travelers and 8 contact persons. In 2 cases, the source of the infection is still unknown.

Currently, 105 people in Offenbach are demonstrably infected with Sars-CoV-2. 527 people are in quarantine at home because they have had contact with someone who tested positive or have returned from a risk area.

On Friday, Offenbach was the first Hessian city to reintroduce stricter contact restrictions in the past seven days due to the rise above the critical threshold of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in order to curb the spread of the corona virus. In addition, there is now a nightly curfew in restaurants in the city.
